Tiny Tiny Bot is an AOL/AIM Bot with the distinctive and unique feature that the bot can learn from users. Back in 2003, I sat down, and I wanted a to do some sort of somewhat intelligent project. I decided I wanted to make a Bot in Perl. Originating as a text bot, Tiny Tiny Bot was born. Tiny Tiny Bot started out as a Perl Command Line Bot. There was a responses text file and a simple regex method to recognize simple conversation and reply. Over the years Tiny Tiny Bot has evolved into the first AIM bot capable of actually being taught responses from users. In order to have my simple bot which knew about 20 replies, generate some sort of intelligence, of course some calculations and algorithms are involved. But the always growing user base surrounding TTB which has helped to generate upwards of 1000 responses has helped Tiny Tiny Bot emerge into the amazing bot it is today. Anyone can teach Tiny Tiny Bot anything. Now you're probally saying, isn't this a huge security risk, or won't the bot fill with guttermouth responses? At one point I attempted to filter responses taught, but it wasn't worth the effort. TTB's responses are completly unfiltered, so you may meet some profanities. -bladdo |
